# Does Stockton Give Free Sandbags? | Who Pays the Repair?

> Stockton provides sandbags at no cost only when conditions warrant; bags are self-filled, so bring a shovel and proof of a Stockton address.

**Who pays:** shared

Stockton hands out sandbags at no cost only when conditions warrant; they are self-filled, you bring the shovel, and you must show proof of a Stockton address.

**Boundary:** The City of Stockton is prepared to distribute sandbags if conditions warrant, so distribution is not a standing service. When it runs, sandbags are provided at no cost and are self-filled; bring your own shovel and show proof of a Stockton address.

**Exceptions:** Distribution happens only when the City decides conditions warrant it.
