St. Petersburg: the abutting owner must keep the sidewalk in repair or, after 30 days’ notice, be treated as maintaining a nuisance.

**Boundary:** St. Petersburg City Code § 25-191 makes it the duty of the abutting property owner to keep the sidewalk in repair; failure within 30 days of written notice is declared an unlawful nuisance. Owners repairing a sidewalk get the grade from the City without charge (§ 25-192).

**Property owner:** Keep the abutting sidewalk in repair; repair within 30 days of notice or the owner maintains an unlawful nuisance (§ 25-191).

**City / agency:** The City provides the sidewalk grade without charge to a repairing owner (§ 25-192); Pavement Operations addresses reported hazards.

**Exceptions:** The City says its Pavement Operations unit maintains sidewalks and takes reports of sidewalk problems. Ask the City before you pay for a repair.
