# Sidewalk Repair in Little Rock, AR: Who Pays? | Who Pays the Repair?

Little Rock puts it on the abutting owner: build and maintain the abutting sidewalk in safe condition, and remove and re-lay any section broken or lifted by age, usage, or roots.

**Boundary:** On notice from public works, the owner of each lot abutting a street must build, construct and maintain the abutting sidewalk in safe condition; sections deteriorated, broken, lifted or shifted "by age, usage, roots, or other reasons" must be repaired to grade and unsafe sections removed and relaid by the owner (§ 30-36).

**Property owner:** Build, construct and maintain the abutting sidewalk in safe condition; repair to grade and remove/relay broken or root-lifted sections.

**City / agency:** Public works inspects on complaint and serves written notice to repair; administers permits/standards.
