# Who pays if a Chicago tow damages my car? | Who Pays the Repair?

> Chicago says damage at the Central or O’Hare pound goes to the City Clerk; damage at Pounds 2, 3 or 6 goes to the Pound Supervisor or URT.

**Who pays:** depends

In Chicago, where you file a damage claim depends on which pound damaged your car: the City Clerk for the Central or O’Hare pounds, or the Pound Supervisor or URT for Pounds 2, 3 or 6.

**Boundary:** For a car damaged at the Central Pound or O’Hare Auto Pound, the City says to file a claim with the Office of the City Clerk. For damage at Pounds 2, 3 or 6, the City says to contact the Pound Supervisor or URT, the company the City contracted to tow vehicles to City pounds and staff five City pounds.
